The Traffic Commission is an independent commission responsible for traffic regulations in the Village. This includes matters relating to one-way streets, speed limits, placement of stop signs and other traffic-related signage, as well as on-street and off-street parking rules. (The Commission does not set the amounts of fines and fees–this is done by the Village Board.)

We meet in the conference room at Village Hall once a month, usually on the first Tuesday evening of the month, at 8 p.m.. Our meetings usually last between 1 and 2 hours. In between meetings, we often make an effort to look at particular intersections that have been brought to our attention by residents as presenting problems. Very occasionally, we try to make one of those visits all together.

Commissioners must be residents of the Village of Larchmont. Other than that, they must have an interest in helping to keep Larchmont a safe place to drive, walk and ride bikes.

Why not attend a meeting to see if you would be interested in becoming a member of the Traffic Commission?

Letters of interest will be forwarded to the chairs by the Village Deputy Clerk, Brian Rilley (deputyclerk@villageoflarchmont.org).

Meeting days and times are posted on the Village calendar.
